Sarah Atkinson RVN
Sarah started working at Ashfield Vets in 2011 where she began her veterinary nurse training. In 2013 she qualified and subsequently stepped up to the position of nursing supervisor. She has a keen interest in surgery and is aspiring to complete her diploma in surgical nursing. She recently completed her clinical coach training and is currently teaching the new intake of students at Ashfields. Sarah has cat called Milo that she adopted after he was brought in as an injured stray at our practice.
Emma Hepworth RVN
Emma joined our Wakefield surgery as nursing supervisor in May 2015 and is responsible for the daily nursing duties in the practice such as in-patient care, anaesthetic monitoring, nurse clinics and maintaining high clinical standards. Emma is also our clinical coach this involves supporting and training student veterinary nurses. Emma has a special interest in medical nursing and animal behaviour. Emma currently has an abundance of cats called Tally, Maggie, Alfie, Autumn and Wynter, two of which were hand-reared by Emma.
Julie Lewis RVN
Julie has worked at Ashfield Veterinary for 16 years, starting as a receptionist she has gained lots of experience over the years and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2014. Outside of work Julie is a keen football fan and enjoys spending time with her friends and family, she also has two Cocker Spaniels Dylan and Bryan.
Lisa Mustchin RVN
Lisa has worked at Ashfield Veterinary since leaving school. Initially employed as a Veterinary Care Assistant, Lisa progressed to become a Qualified Veterinary Nurse before finally moving to our Headingley surgery as a Nursing Supervisor. Lisa enjoys socialising with friends and spending time with her family including her two dogs, Claude and Prince.
Nicola Rennard RVN
Nicola has worked for Ashfield Vets since July 1989 and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2013. She is primarily based at our Wibsey surgery but does cover shifts at our other branches. Nicola has a special interest in theatre work, especially surgical cases utilising her expertise as a clinical coach to the students. Outside of work, Nicola spends time with her working Cocker Spaniel 'Harry' and her family. She has a love Greys Anatomy and all wildlife programmes.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Sophie joined Ashfield veterinary in 2015 as a student veterinary nurse and studies one day a week at the College of Animal Welfare. Sophie lives with her boyfriend and three cats, Eli, Cassie and Primrose and enjoys going for walks in the countryside.

Fran joined our team in 2015 as a student verterinary nurse, studying one day a week at the college of animal welfare. Living with her fiance and cats. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Melissa started her career at Ashfield as kennel nurse in September 2011 shortly after passing her BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management. She continued her learning journey, subsequently passing the Veterinary Care Assistant course through the College of Animal Welfare in October 2014. Melissa has a special interest working within our internal lab and dealing with inpatient referrals. She recently became our Wibsey branch health and safety coordinator. Outside of work Melissa likes spending time with her family and pets.
Evie joined the Wakefield team in October 2015. Before this she worked Saturdays at the Wibsey branch for four years while studying for a BSc (Hons) in Animal and Wildlife Management. Evie has many animals at home that consist of a cat called Lilly, a Jack Russell called Rocky and a Yorkshire Terrier called Raggles.
Chelsea joined the team in 2016, bringing with her a wealth of experience within the customer service industry. Chelsea has two Patterdale Terriers, Betty and Charlie and a cat called Lucifer.
Liam started his career at Ashfield in August 2016. Having worked at other veterinary practices he has obtained 10 years experience with reptiles whilst gaining herpetological qualifications. Before purs then got into veterinary in 2014, interests are anaesthesia, exotics and orthopaedics. Outside of work Liam is a guitarist, martial artist and a member of a gun club.
Lisa joined Ashfield in September 2015 having always held an interest in animals. Lisa previously undertook volunteer work for two years at the RSPCA. She has an Animal Care Level 2 BTEC Diploma. Lisa has a cat called Hobnob.
Samantha joined Ashfield Veterinary in 2016 having gained experience worked in the customer service industry. Sam joined the team having gained animal care experience elsewhere whilst also obtaining relevant qualifications including a Higher National Diploma in Animal Management.

Nathaniel joined the practice in August 2017 and is our latest member of staff joining the team having gained experience as an Animal Care Assistant at other veterinary practices. Nathaniel has a passion for cars and enjoys spending time renovating his home.
